My Mate Has Two Wolves

Chapter 409

Chapter 409

Third Person's POV

Howard also chuckled, "Benjamin, let's come another day."

"Sure, another day!" Benjamin also felt they'd arrived at an inappropriate time.

Cedrick, seeing they were just here to chat, looked even more displeased.

"Benjamin!" Jessica suddenly jumped out from behind Cedrick and waved at Benjamin.

"Yes?" Everyone present was stunned.

Benjamin exclaimed in surprise, "Jess, are you my nephew or my future sister-in-law?"

"Whatever!" Jessica said with a smile.

The conversation between Benjamin and Jessica deepened Cedrick's gaze, and his affectionate look at Jessica's smiling face lifted his mood.

"Then we won't disturb you. Carry on!" Benjamin, seldomly seeing Cedrick in a good mood, decided to leave now and maybe chat with him another time.

Howard's smile was also enigmatic. He hadn't expected the rumors to be true— Cedrick and Jessica were together. Despite their age gap, the deep love in their eyes was undiminished.

The two men turned and left, giving them space. The earlier passion now felt somewhat awkward.

Jessica touched her nose and said softly, "Is there anything to drink? I'm a bit thirsty!"

Cedrick asked gently, "What would you like to drink?"

"Just water!" Jessica walked around Cedrick's office with her hands behind her back, finally sitting on his black leather chair, legs up, in a queenly manner.

She giggled and turned the chair to face the city's magnificent view.

Cedrick brought her a glass of water and placed it on the desk, watching her play.

"Didn't you take a new play? Why hasn't work started yet?" Cedrick asked softly, full of concern.

Jessica replied, "The start date was set, but my boss had a relationship crisis, and the launch ceremony has been delayed." Jessica wondered if Leo's public statement about breaking up with Sunny was true.

Based on her knowledge of entertainment rules, she thought Leo might not really want to break up.

If they had truly decided to split, they wouldn't have announced it to the press. They would have done it privately.

So, she believed Leo might be going through some troubles and used the press to send a message to someone.

She sighed, thinking it was unexpected that the suave Leo would have relationship problems, which would make many women sad.

Cedrick, who had been following entertainment news because of Jessica, asked, "Is it about Leo and his new girlfriend breaking up?"

"Yeah, I really want to call and check on him, but I don't think it's appropriate," Jessica said.

She felt indebted to Leo for his help and support over the years, which had allowed her to succeed in the entertainment industry.

Cedrick, noticing her concern for Leo, was taken aback.

"Maybe don't contact him privately. Given the past rumors between you two, the media might think you're the reason for his breakup," Jessica nodded in agreement, worried about this.

She also heard that Leo's girlfriend had encountered problems recently and was injured, wondering if Leo would care for her.

Sunny's brave fight against a thug had gone viral, and people noticed her arm injury from the video.

The sight of her bleeding was painful to watch. It was clear Sunny had suffered greatly.

"If you want to show concern, perhaps we could invite him for a meal," Cedrick suggested.

"Us?" Jessica's eyes lit up with a smile.

"Yes, I have a good impression of Leo and think he could be a good friend," Cedrick said sincerely.

"Really? What do you think of him?" Jessica was curious, as she didn't know of any prior connection between Cedrick and Leo.

Cedrick smiled, "He was the one who came to me to introduce you as his girlfriend."

"Ah!" Jessica's eyes widened in disbelief. Had Leo really gone to Cedrick?

"It was on the day I was invited to a Design Company's new product exhibition. In the smoking area, he approached me and mentioned you," Cedrick said calmly.

Jessica felt a bit embarrassed, "Really? So he did try to sell me!"

She was kinda touched that Leo was such a great boss.

"So, I think he's great!" Cedrick smiled approvingly.

Jessica agreed, "Yes, I think so too. Actually, before, many companies tried to poach me when my contract was nearing expiration, offering tempting conditions. But I never considered leaving."

Cedrick knew Jessica was genuinely kind despite her bold and adventurous personality.

"Would you like to give him a call?" Cedrick asked with a smile.

Jessica got up, found her handbag on the sofa, took out her phone, and called Leo.

Leo was at the company dealing with affairs and had just come out of the meeting room when Jessica called.

"Jess, what's up?" Leo asked in a low voice.
