I Rejected The Alpha For Being A Bully

Chapter 83

Chapter 83

Early the next morning, Ethan felt a soft tap on his shoulders and he startled. He looked up and saw Helen, smiling faintly at him. He didn't even hear her walk into the room, where he watched Accalia.

Ethan's eyes paled out from lack of sleep. The eyebags appeared and were dark from tears and grief. Throughout the night,he watched Accalia laying motionless hoping that she would even stir for once.

"Please go get some rest, Ethan. I'll take it from here", Helen persuaded.

"No..no..I'm sure you'll need my help. I'm fine, trust me", Ethan protested.

"I'm sure you know by now that Accalia has been a friend turned sister to me. I cherish her as much as you do but please take some rest, let me also care for my friend", Helen said firmly.

Ethan nodded his head, knowing that Helen wouldn't agree to him staying around, until he had rested. So he let go of Accalia's hand and rose to his feet. Before he left,he helped in changing the old clothes and replacing them with the new ones Helen brought.

Helen sighed and took a seat besides Accalia. She had been lifted from the ground and placed on the bed. Accalia had a cream-coloured flowing gown on her and her hair was neatly packed. Her pale face and dark lips didn't obstruct her beauty.

Helen looked at Accalia pitifully and wished she would open those eyes and reveal her sparkling green eyes, then display her dimpled smile.

Accalia was a sweetheart and she deserved another chance at living. Helen was proud of Accalia's strength. She had been rejected once and she almost took her life. To cover her shame, she ran from home and denounced her pack, settling in her late uncle's pack, for refuge.

But here was Accalia, her family and entire pack were ravaged in her eyes. She was taken captive as a slave that satisfied the rogue wolf's sexual desires and obviously was abused by the greyhounds, beaten, hated and wounded, yet she was brave enough to find peace somewhere.

She didn't just seek refuge, she didn't let anyone know how hurt she felt everyday when she reminisced about her past. Her painful past didn't stop Accalia from being the nicest person and she was willing and happy to give love a chance, even though she had lost hope in love.

Helen smiled at Accalia's body and said to her,"I'm so proud of who you are, Accalia Monae. You bottled up all your worries and fears, but would always endeavor to be a reason why another person smiled".

Then she took a clean, dry towel, dipped it in water and began to mop her body. As Helencleaned her up,she sang one of the werewolf songs about love and bravery melodiously.

When she was done, she opened her bag and brought out some herbs she had gathered from the wild bush,in the morning. If there was anything else she knew how to do well apart from planning events,it was medicine and healing potions.

Her grandmother had taught her a lot and even though she had never treated an Omicron, she would use her expertise and innovate ways to treat Accalia. Mixing the herbs, seeds and nuts in a little mortar she brought, she began to meditate.

After a while, Helen filtered the magical contents into a cup and placed it close to Accalia's lips slowly. After some unsuccessful attempts, she found a way to get her mouth open before pouring in some of the contents.

"You'll be fine in no time, darling. All I need for you to do is hang on strong and come back home", Helen whispered into Accalia's ears.

"Is she okay?", Rachel said from behind Helen.

"I'm sure she'll be fine. She has to be", Helen replied with certainty.

Rachel walked over to where Rachel laid and held her cold hands. "You have to be fine for us, Accalia. For Ethan. He's going nuts over your condition, please I know you're in there. Fight it and come back to us", Rachel said as tears choked her.

"Hey! Hey! It's fine. She'll be fine. We all have to be strong, yeah?", Helen comforted.

"I know..I know.. I'm sorry", Rachel said, cleaning her eyes.

"It's fine", Helen answered.

"So have you had something to eat? I brought some beef and salad", Rachel said, taking out the plates filled with food.

Rachel took a plate of the yummy meal and began to pick some food from it into her mouth. The women began to chat quietly, then climaxed into a vibrant conversation and occasional laughter.

"So how is the wedding plan going?", Rachel asked, biting a piece of beef.

"I don't know,Luna. Max and I are looking forward to it but do you think it's the right time for it, seeing Accalia in this condition?", Helen said with lack of enthusiasm.

"Of course, Helen! This has got nothing to do with it. Accalia would be okay, who knows! She might even show up on your wedding day. I'm certain, Accalia would love for you to go on with the plans", Rachel said encouragingly.

"Awww. Thank you so much. We'll go on with it then. Like I said before,it'll be before the full moon", Rachel said with a smile.

"Fantastic! It'll be a beautiful one,I'm certain", Rachel said.

The women chatted for some hours until Ethan showed up with Alpha Gabriel. Gabriel and Rachel shared a brief kiss, while Helen politely greeted. Ethan walked quietly to the bed and kissed Accalia on her forehead.

"Uhm.. please wake up by any chance?"he asked hopefully.

Rachel and Helen shared sullen looks before Helen shook her head disappointedly. Ethan nodded and went back to running his hands on her face, carefully. Helen showed Ethan the herb she had mixed and directed him on how to administer it to her.

Few minutes later,Alpha Gabriel and Rachel excused themselves and Helen followed suit.

"Ethan! I'm afraid we have to take our leave and give you both some privacy. I have some administrative work to handle", Alpha Gabriel said.

"Yeah.. yeah..I'm sorry,I'll join you when..", Ethan wanted to say.

"No..it's okay. I understand how hard it is for you especially so take your time and take good care of her", Gabriel said sincerely.

"Thank you", Ethan replied.

They all shared brief hugs before leaving. For Ethan,he couldn't admit that he had gotten a good rest because he could not shut his eyes. His thoughts raced within him and it gave him migraines. What if she didn't wake up? What would become of their love?

Ethan sighed and held tightly to Accalia's hand, not wanting to let go. He loved her and would do anything to make her feel better. Suddenly, remembering the herb Helen gave him,he opened Accalia's mouth slightly,so the contents could drip in.

"You have to get well for me, baby. You're everything I need and I would never take you for granted",he said quietly.

When he was done,he bent to kiss her head lovingly. He remembered the last time they had been together. It was the eve of Luna's birthday party.

He had sneaked into her house while she was frying some tuna. She didn't know he was behind her as he ignited his stealth mode. She was concentrating on making sure the tuna were crisply fried when he wrapped his hands around her tiny waist.

"Ethan! Stop! If this tuna is burnt, you'll have yourself to blame not me",she teased, trying not to laugh.

"I like how you take caution when you plan on serving me. You should see your face", Ethan mocked and she gave his light slap.
