Chapter 1345: How Old Are You Really
"When Sophie was training that bunch of brats, I stayed home and took care of the kid." Frederick scrubbed his face hard. This past month had really been... he didn’t even know where to start. The branch chairman was stunned for a second, then burst out laughing. "That girl Sophie is treating training like a vacation?"
"Yeah." As much as he didn’t want to admit it, Frederick still had to face reality.
"That girl is still as mischievous as ever." The branch chairman laughed and cursed, scenes from back then flashing through his mind.
That teenage girl had been totally fearless, negotiating terms with them, coordinating inside and out.
At that time they really desperately needed an internal operative like Sophie Wilson, but they also knew how dangerous it was. After all, the people they’d sent in had died in batch after batch.
"Kid, what if you don’t make it back?" He still remembered asking her that right before she left.
Her response had been a glance over her shoulder and an easy smile. "Then I just won’t come back, that’s all."
"What are you thinking about?" Frederick frowned and glanced at his old friend, who was off in a daze.
"Sigh... just thinking about that little girl Sophie." The branch chairman came back to himself and couldn’t help shaking his head with a smile. "She really hasn’t changed one bit."
"She’s not that little anymore, she’s got a kid now." Frederick let out a helpless sigh. He really hadn’t expected Charles Seymour to end up with a kid like that.
Luckily Sophie came out okay in the end, otherwise if something had happened to both of those little ones, us old guys would’ve been heartbroken to death.
"How are we assigning these people?" the branch chairman asked. They’d specially trained these people this time to deal with possible trouble stirred up by survivors from that old illegal company.
"Here’s what I’m thinking..." Frederick slowly laid out his idea.
How they were discussing things, Sophie of course had no idea. She had gone back home and happily grabbed a pile of snacks to eat together with Bao.
So by the time noon rolled around and Charles had deliberately come home for lunch, what he saw was a mother and son who were already full from snacking.
"Bao, has Daddy ever told you that snacks can’t be your main meal?" Charles asked with a frown.
Bao blinked his eyes, nervously peeking at Charles.
The butler, seeing this, was just about to step forward when he saw his Sir clear his throat and say, "But once or twice every now and then is okay. You just can’t do it too often, understand?"
As soon as Bao heard that, he let out a cheer.
The butler’s stunned gaze swept over the few people in the living room and he instantly understood.
So Madam had just frowned, huh.
Mm, Sir had criticized Madam’s kid, so Madam definitely wasn’t happy. Sir changing his attitude was the most normal thing in the world.
"Let’s keep Daddy company and eat a little." Sophie smiled as she carried Bao over to the dining table. "Just a little bit of vegetables."
"Okay." Bao answered sweetly, then tilted his little face up and bragged to Charles, "Daddy, Mommy is super awesome. Those uncles all can’t beat Mommy!"
After this month of training, Mommy’s image in Bao’s heart had become towering and unbeatable. No one could replace her, not even Charles.
"Daddy’s more awesome than Mommy." Charles said, and the second he spoke, Bao’s little mouth instantly puckered as he argued back, "Mommy’s the most awesome!"
"Daddy’s awesome." Charles just kept stubbornly emphasizing.
Sophie pressed a hand to her forehead. How old was this guy, exactly?
Why did he have to argue with his son over such a pointless question?
