Chapter 1343 - 1342: The Pitiful Little Rabina Mitchell

And so she stayed in a daze here for the entire day. By the time Maxwell Peary returned in the evening, he didn’t see his young wife in the living room."Where’s the young mistress?"

During this time, while Nia Mitchell was recuperating at home, she was always in the living room when he came back in the evening.

This was the first time he didn’t see her in the living room upon returning.

"The young mistress had dinner and went upstairs."

Today, whatever Anne Davidson might have said to her, Nia Mitchell was completely in a daze and couldn’t lift her spirits.

"Got it."

After changing into slippers, Maxwell Peary went straight upstairs.

Inside the main bedroom, the floor of the balcony was covered with a fluffy carpet, and Nia Mitchell was sitting on the carpet at the moment, curled up in a corner of the balcony.

Maxwell Peary searched around before finding her curled up there—a petite figure that would go unnoticed if he weren’t careful.

Helplessly walking over, just as he was about to ask her why she was sitting on the ground, he realized she was curled up there, asleep.

Under the evening sun, her delicate face glowed with a sheen that drew one’s eyes irresistibly.

Her eyelashes were exceptionally long, curled up captivatingly.

Her palm-sized face lay lazily amidst her loose hair.

Seeing this, Maxwell Peary’s Adam’s apple bobbed, and he softly walked over, cautiously planting a kiss on her forehead.

Seriously counting, it seemed like quite a few days since he last touched her.

He felt his entire being clamoring to be released.

Yet little Rabina Mitchell’s injury hadn’t healed.

He sighed, gently picked her up and placed her onto the bed.

Nia Mitchell had already awakened when her forehead was kissed, yet she still kept her eyes closed.

These past two days, Maxwell Peary hadn’t rested well. Looking at how soundly she slept, he didn’t want to get up for dinner, so he lay down on the bed beside her as well.

Feeling the bed sag beside her, Nia Mitchell tightened her grip with both hands.

Noticing Nia Mitchell’s body tense up, Maxwell Peary frowned.

"Are you awake?"

Maxwell Peary’s voice wafted over.

Since Maxwell Peary had asked, Nia Mitchell wasn’t going to keep pretending. So, she opened her eyes.

This little rabbit seemed to be resisting his closeness.

"Will you continue sleeping or go have dinner?"

Today, the little rabbit hadn’t greeted him with a sweet smile; she hadn’t even said, "You’re back," upon seeing him.

"I’ll eat."

Nia Mitchell didn’t think before directly giving this answer.

Then she got out of bed and left.

The CEO was bewildered.

What the hell!

Feels like he’s getting the silent treatment from his wife.

What on earth is happening?

"Nia Mitchell!"

Maxwell Peary’s tone shifted, no longer filled with indulgence.

"What are you doing?"

Maxwell Peary’s voice came from behind, and Nia Mitchell paused, turning around to glare at the CEO angrily.

"You lied to me!"

She never realized before that Maxwell Peary could deceive her.

Was it because Anne Davidson was back, so he...

"What did I lie to you about!"

Maxwell Peary furrowed his brow and walked up to her, leaving no room for retreat.

Hearing Maxwell Peary ask such a question, Nia Mitchell’s eyes reddened with anger.

"When I called you today, you said you were at the company, but you weren’t there at all..."

She had faintly heard the background sound on the phone was from the hospital.

Calls for some specific number, some doctor and nurse.

She heard it all clearly!
