Luo Yao’s eagerness to marry amused both Kong Lizhen and Mu Yan. The two understood that they had things to discuss, so they left the ward, giving them some space.As soon as they exited the ward, Mu Yan called a flower shop and ordered a lot of flowers to decorate the room.

"There’s no need to hire a wedding planning service, right? It would be great if you, godmother, could officiate the wedding for them," Mu Yan said to Kong Lizhen.

"It’s no trouble at all," Kong Lizhen replied with a smile. "I am their elder; officiating is something I can certainly do."

"Shall we go pick out rings now?" Mu Yan asked.

Although Luo Yao had said she did not want rings, Mu Yan couldn’t bear to let her feel too slighted. With such short notice, they couldn’t have custom ones made, so they could only head to a jewelry store.

"Sure!" Kong Lizhen nodded.

The two of them went downstairs and drove to the jewelry store with Kong Lizhen at the wheel.

It seemed like quite the coincidence as Mu Yan ran into Ning Shishen again. This time, though, he was accompanied by Mrs. Ning and a young lady.

"Auntie, Brother Shishen, long time no see," Mu Yan greeted proactively.

Mrs. Ning’s eyes lit up upon seeing Mu Yan. "Nuannuan, what a coincidence. Are you here to look at jewelry too?"

"Yes," Mu Yan nodded. "How have you been lately?"

"Good, everything’s been fine. And you?" Mrs. Ning looked at the girl who bore a striking resemblance to an old friend, her affection unhidden in her eyes.

"I’ve been good too," Mu Yan replied, her gaze landing on Ning Shishen and the young woman beside him. She teasingly asked, "Brother Ning, who is this?"

"This is Miss Li," Ning Shishen replied.

Upon hearing this, Li Nan Nan cast a resentful glance at Ning Shishen. Just Miss Li?

Mrs. Ning found her son’s wooden-headedness exasperating and said to Mu Yan, "This is the daughter of a good friend of mine, Nannan."

"Nice to meet you, Miss Li," Mu Yan smiled at Li Nan Nan.

She didn’t know Li Nan Nan, but Li Nan Nan knew her, or rather she had long wanted to meet the woman who had won over Jiang Jingheng.

She then turned to Kong Lizhen and said, "Godmother, this is Mrs. Ning, my mom’s good friend."

Kong Lizhen nodded to Mrs. Ning and said, "Hello, Mrs. Ning."

"Hello," Mrs. Ning nodded, her gaze fixed on her face. For some reason, it felt as if she had seen her somewhere before.

Though Kong Lizhen glanced at her once, she quickly withdrew her gaze.

Mu Yan said, "Auntie, I won’t keep you any longer. We’re off to look at some jewelry now."

"Alright," Mrs. Ning nodded with a smile, then left with Ning Shishen and Li Nan Nan.

Once they left, Mu Yan went to the counter to start picking out rings.

Upon reaching the door, Mrs. Ning suddenly stopped, looking back at Kong Lizhen’s retreating figure, her eyes filled with even more doubt.

"Auntie, is something the matter?" Li Nan Nan asked.

Mrs. Ning snapped out of it, shook her head, "It’s nothing, let’s go."

She walked forward, her frown smoothing out. That face didn’t resemble Ah Ning’s at all; she was overthinking it, how could she have had such a sudden thought.
